  REBELS CLAIM 17-14 WIN OVER BRONCHOS

The Rebels got on the board first, when Jace Edwards capped a seven-play, 70-yard drive from the 1.  Edwards' second touchdown run gave the Rebels a 14-0 lead after three quarters, but Odessa High cut that lead in half entering the fourth quarter.  Zach Starnes connected on a 32-yard field goal to extend the Rebel lead to 17-7.  The Bronchos mounted a scoring drive that had them trailing 17-14 with under two minutes to play.   LEE QUALIFIES, WATSON RUNS WILD

Watson Making Some HeadwayLee blew open a 20-7 first quarter and never looked back in Grande.  Donald Evans broke open a 58 yard touchdown run, and Stefen Watson added a 25-yd and 1-yd TD run.  Willie Wilson increased the Rebel lead to 28-7 after a 44 yard blast to close the first half.  The Rebels put another 14 points on the board in the third quarter to go up 42-7.  In the final period, Amarillo High managed to score twice and Lee posted their final touchdown to claim the 49-21 win.

  REBS DOMINATE PLAINSMEN, 41-14

Jace Edwards led the Rebels to a convincing 41-14 victory over Lubbock Monterey at Lowrey Field.  Lee scored the only points of the first quarter behind an Edwards' 1-yard TD plunge.  He would find the endzone again from 10 yards out in the second quarter, and the Rebels would own a 14-7 halftime lead.  In the second half, Lee added four touchdowns and exploded with another 27 points.  Monterey scored its lone touchdown of the half midway through the fourth quarter against Lee reserves.  LHS can clinch a playoff sport by beating Amarillo on Friday.

  EDWARDS HAS BIG GAME IN 35-14 WIN

Lee built a 14 point halftime lead on a Jace Edwards 40yd pass to Michael Henson and 14yd TD run by Josh Wilson.  Donald Evans broke open for a 58 yard score in the third quarter to give the Rebels a 21-7 lead.  In the fourth, Edwards found paydirt on a 68 yard TD run.  San Angelo Central answered with a 39 yard TD run midway through the final quarter.  Donald Evans scored his second touchdown from just outside the 3-yard line to cap off the scoring.  Edwards rushed for 114 yards and threw for 80 more yards.  GAME PHOTOS

  REBELS SUFFER LOSS TO PANTHERS

Lee set the tone early, forcing Permian to punt on the first drive of the game. The Rebels picked up three straight first downs and an early TD for a 7-0 lead.  Jace Edwards accounted for 51 yards on a run and two completions.  Zach Starnes added a 39-yard field goal and the Rebs trailed 14-10 at the half.  Lee could not answer two Permian TDs in the third quarter.  Adrian Pertile did manage to add points for Lee on a 14-yard catch to end the game 35-17.

  LEE KNOCKS OFF TASCOSA FOR HOMECOMING

On the first Amarillo Tascosa drive of the game, the Rebels picked off a pass at midfield.  Two plays later, Jarven Roberson ran 52 yards for the first of his three touchdowns.  After THS scored and tied the game at 14-14 in the second quarter, Adrian Pertile returned the ensuing kickoff 95-yards for a TD to give Lee a 21-14 halftime lead.  In the second half, Lee scored 17 more points in the 38-20 Homecoming win.  Lee rushed for 381 yards and Roberson led the way with 249 yards on 17 carries.

  REBELS CAPITALIZE ON MUSTANG TURNOVERS

The Rebels took advantage of three interceptions and two fumbles en route to the 21-14 victory over Lubbock Coronado.  The first interception came at the Mustang 34 and resulted in Lee’s first score, a 23-yard TD pass from quarterback Jace Edwards to Adrian Pertile.  LHS went up 13-0 on a 15-yard pass from Edwards to Jesse Childs.  Lee made it 21-0 on a 2-yard run by Jared Groener and possessed a 21-7 halftime lead.  The Mustangs scored in the third to close the gap to 21-14.

  NOW THAT'S REBEL FOOTBALL

Lee dominated the offense and defense in the 49-21 disposal of Lubbock High.  The Westerners scored first, but Donald Evans tied it up on a 12-yard TD run.  The Rebels owned the second quarter with scores from Willie Wilson (16-yd run) and Zach Starnes (3-yd run).  The defense logged a safety and Jace Edwards threw a 15-yd TD pass to Matthew Bacon to give the Rebs a 29-7 halftime lead.  Evans added a 11-yd score in the third quarter.  Wilson collected his second score from 23 yards out, and Bacon added a TD reception of 21 yards.  EVENT PHOTOS

  SECOND HALF WOES CONTINUE

The Rebels opened the first quarter, scoring on cross-town rival Midland High.  The Bulldogs made a field goal, while Lee added six more points in the second quarter to possess a 13-3 halftime lead.  For the second week in a row, the Rebel offense struggled to put points on the board.  The Bulldogs narrowed the margin to 13-6 with a field goal in the third quarter.  In the final period, MHS scored 14 unanswered points to take the first lead of the game.  MHS 20...   OFFENSIVE MISTAKES SPOIL HOME OPENER

Two TDs in the third quarter gave the Rebels a 14-9 lead, but Rockwall walked away with the 15-14 victory.  Rockwall scored the only points of the first half after forcing a Rebel fumble.  The Yellow Jackets took a 3-0 lead on a 37-yard field goal.  Rockwall's first drive of the second half resulted in Hunter Byler's 63-yard touchdown interception return.  The Rebels added another TD on a 69-yard run to claim their first lead of the game.  Rockwall added another six in the fourth.

  SUPPORTERS MEET THE 2008 REBELS

The annual "Meet The Rebels" was held at Grande on August 23.  Players, coaches, spirit groups, and band were in attendance and  introduced.  Lee divided into two teams and scrimmaged in a game-like environment.  The Rebels begin the season August 30 hosting the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 11:00am in Grande.  With the new district realignment, this will be the only non-district game on the schedule for 2008.

  IT'S TIME FOR FOOTBALL CAMP

This year's football camp will be held June 9-12, with two sessions:
*Session I is 8am to 10am - Grades 2nd-5th ($40 for all week)
*Session II is 9am to noon - Grades 6th-8th ($60 for all week)
Both boys and girls are welcome to the first camp, and boys only for the second camp.  Everyone who participates will get a camp T-shirt and drinks will be furnished.  Registrations will be on June 9th.  You can contact Coach Hanlan at 689-1649 for more information.
