After failing to score

into points. Sparks flew in the second quarter as the two teams
posted 34 combined points on the scoreboard, which had the Rebels
trailing 28-19 at the half. In the second half, Permian and Lee
traded touchdowns in the third and field goals in the final quarter.

176 through the air, including a 28-yard touchdown pass in the fourth

REBELS
THUMP MUSTANGS, 34-16 |
|
The Rebels didn't waste
much time getting on the board, scoring the game's first points less
than three minutes into the game on a 21-yard pass from Jace Edwards
to Matthew Awbrey. Then after giving up a field goal, Lee scored again
on a 90-yard kickoff return from Tevin Collier. Austin Jumper
followed with a 12-yard TD run. The Rebels took a 27-9 lead into the
break. The second half was a defensive battle, as each team only
managed a touchdown each as the Rebels claimed a 34-16 win over

|
A 39 year streak of
consecutive victories over Lubbock High came to a halt at Lowrey
Field, as the Westerners outlasted the Rebels 25-23. After
taking a 14-13 lead to the locker room, the Rebels watched their lead
slip away in third quarter. Lee looked to have re-poised
themselves early in the fourth, when Jace Edwards hit Christian Coggan
on a 78-yard touchdown to put the Rebels up 23-19. The Westerners put
together their own game-winning drive, going 69 yards in eight plays.
